Hey Everyone! I’m your Host, Meredith Kirk, it’s nice to meet you!

I’m excited that you are here and I believe that you have found this podcast for a reason! Let me introduce myself and share with you why I started this podcast- Making the Turnaround- and what types of episodes you should expect to hear on this podcast.

For the last several years in my life, God has brought many interesting people from all walks into my life. I have an amazing job as a creative media specialist in which I primarily work in the golf industry. I’m also a certified LPGA golf instructor (I have been hitting a little white ball around for thirty-four years and showing people how to do it for over twenty of those years..Lol). Golf has always been a huge part of my life. Through these wonderful vocations, I have been able to work with people that have inspired me, challenged my thinking, and have encouraged me in my Christian faith.

I have also crossed paths with skeptics of the Christian faith:  Atheists, Agnostics, and most often, Christians who are tired and frustrated in their faith journey. In all of these encounters with these people of different walks of faith, there is always a common thread that tends to surface in my interactions with them, and that is not knowing what their purpose is in life. Paul answers this so well in Ephesians 2:20, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Truly grasping a biblical understanding of God our Creator and knowing why He has placed us here on earth can be the most significant revelation we can come to understand in our life, outside of salvation through Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten son (John 3:16).

I have always had a sensitive heart for others, especially those that are going through struggles, so it’s natural for me want to help encourage others. Maybe it’s because I have been through so many trials and hard times myself that I can easily empathize with people in similar scenarios. When I was growing up, I certainly had many challenges. It was those challenges that led me to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ when I was nineteen-years-old. After that turning point in my life, many aspects of my life became better, however, I still struggled in some areas and I can bare witness to relating to Chrisitans that feel frustrated in their Christian walk.

Which brings me to why I started this podcast. After going through one of the deepest struggles I have ever experienced, a bout of depression a few years ago (I write about my journey through depression in my book, The Mount Moriah Experience), I decided to enroll in seminary. During that season in my life I was stuck in a very dark valley, a valley that I call, “the shadow of death.” Through this dark valley, my faith was challenged to degrees in which I had never experienced. It was a true testing of my Christian faith.

It was in these dark and trying times that I pressed into my relationship with the Lord…seeking Him in sheer desperation to be set free from the depression. Not only did the Lord set me free over a period of a few years, piece by piece, little by little, but I truly learned and understood who God was in the process. I developed a close and intimate relationship with the living God, the way He wants all us to be close to Him. He showed me why I was put on this earth, why it is only the blood of Jesus Christ that can set us free, and how to discover and accept His perfect plan for our lives. These life experences have taught me so much about finding victory in the Christian walk, and that is what I desire to share with you in these podcasts.

I would love for you to join me on this journey! You can go to and subscribe to this podcast on multiple platforms.
